The process of making silk was invented by the Chinese many thousands of years ago and today about half the silk made in the entire world is still produced there
It is an all-natural material spun by silkworms (it takes around 30,000 silkworms to produce 12 pounds of raw silk!)
After the finest silk is chosen, it is taken to a plant in Moscow where Marina Makaron’s designs are translated onto it.
Once the designs are securely imbedded onto the silk, it goes through a careful softening process, leaving each piece heavenly smooth.
Lastly, the brilliant material is handled by local seamstresses in Moscow, who carefully craft the edges and details.
